School Resource Officer

Through cooperative agreements between the Ottawa Police Department, Ottawa Township High School, and Ottawa Elementary School District 141, dedicated officers are assigned to serve as School Resource Officers (S.R.O.).  The relationship is designed to establish a vital link between police officers and the student bodies of these schools.  S.R.O.'s provide active mentoring to students and educate those students about the dangers of their actions and/or behaviors.  The program provides the officers with the opportunity to serve as a resource to each student and assist the students in their growth during this crucial time their lives.
