Shepherd Middle School is proud to offer the Crimestoppers program within our school community. The program operates much like the Ottawa community version of Crimestoppers in that it offers rewards to tipsters who provide information to the authorities. At Shepherd students are encouraged to anonymously provide information to school officials, including the School Resource Officer, and if their information proves to be useful they receive a monetary award. The program is led by a group of 7th and 8th grade students and given guidance by the School Resource Officer and Administration. Members meet monthly to discuss any tips that might have been received and the board members are responsible for determining the amount of money given to the tipster. This program gives students a way of keeping their school safe anonymously.
