The Ottawa Crimestoppers is a not-for-profit organization with the sole purpose of assisting in the generation of information needed to help solve crimes and bring the people who commit them to justice.
You can call Crimestoppers at 815-433-HELP (4357). You may remain anonymous. We won't ask for your name or any other identifying information and the Crimestoppers line does not use caller ID. We may however, ask you to call back at another time to speak with a detective or another officer more familiar with a certain case being investigated.
The Ottawa Crimestoppers has also instituted a new process allowing you to submit your tips via testing on your cellular phone called "TIP-411". To use TIP-411, simply enter one of the keywords listed below followed by the tip information and send it to TIP-411 (847411).

Why the keywords? Because the Crimestoppers program has been embraced by the Ottawa middle and high schools through the creation of "sub-programs" within the schools. The keywords allow the information to be directed accordingly, either to one of the school resource officers or to the Ottawa Police Department for general followup. Tips may also be submitted online by clicking HERE to access an online tip submission form.
Rewards of up to $1,000.00 may be given for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) that committed the crime that you provide useful information about.
