Citizen's Police Academy

The Ottawa Police Department Citizen's Police Academy is a twelve week program, including graduation, designed to give the citizens of Ottawa a working knowledge of the Ottawa Police Department.  Each course will consist of eleven consecutive weekly two hour sessions with graduation occurring during the twelfth week.

The goal of the Citizen's Police Academy is to educate the public about the Ottawa Police Department and increase rapport between citizens and police officers.

We hope the graduates of the Citizen's Police Academy become more aware and better informed about how the Police Department operates, and will encourage friends, coworkers and families to join the Ottawa Police Department in this rewarding program.
