Ottawa Police Department

Communications Division

The Ottawa Police Department Communications Section, reporting to Communication Manager Diana Aussem, serves as the vital link between the citizens and public safety agencies of the City of Ottawa. We strive to collect and disseminate all requests for service in a prompt, courteous, and efficient manner for all our citizens. Through our actions, we help save lives, protect property and assist the public in their time of need.

The Communications Section is comprised of eight full time telecommunicators divided into four shifts.  The telecommunicators dispatch calls for police, fire, and EMS service within the City of Ottawa.  The dispatch center is staffed and in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including all holidays.
